Hi All

In the past I have spoken about the benefits of socialism several times. I've decided to make an entire thread about the positive benefits of socialism.

- Socialism will create a world in which there are no rich people or poor people. That's the most obvious point.
- A socialist society will be good for refugees. I have spoken about the dangers of third world immigration in the past but I also understand that not all of the violent immigrants are jihadists. Some are just poor.
- Socialism gives people a sense of community.
- Socialism teaches people how to work as a team instead of stabbing each other in the back.
- Socialism will be good for the military because it teaches people to work together.
- Capitalism leads to mental illness. How else can we explain this?
- Psychology becomes warped in capitalism. People start believe that people are "naturally selfish". Anarchist violence is attributed to "macho insecurity" in a desperate and pathetic attempt to court feminists. Pills are used to solve every problem because pills are easy to sell.
- Capitalism leads to violence.
- Capitalism leads to ignorance, which leads to homophobia, racism and superstition.
- Capitalism is NOT Christian. Read Matthew 19:24 or go to Hell.
- Capitalism is bad for the autistic community. We need help from society if we are going to reach our full potential.

Criticisms of Socialism - Refuted

Someone like that could not possibly have written Das Kapital.

I've shown this article to right-wingers in the past. They didn't care. I showed it to r/mensrights. Hardly anyone cared. The manosphere is a joke.

Only the most extreme socialists want that.

"Socialists hate Western Civilization."
One of the greatest heroes of Western Civilization ever was Christopher Hitchens - a Trotskyist.

"Capitalism is good for aspies because aspies tend to be individualistic."
Most aspies are individualistic in an artistic way. In the autistic community, rugged individualism is nearly absent.

"The Nazis were socialists."
The Nazis called themselves socialists. North Korea calls itself democratic.

Every capitalist society contains idle rich.

"Socialists hate white people!"
Most anti-white socialists are entry-level noobs.

The real wealth creators are the workers.

That's what I was implying.

The term "rugged individualism" is BS anyway. You don't need to be "manly" in order to succeed in a capitalist system. You just need to be an intelligent, handsome sociopath.

Individualism exist on the left and the right. Right-wing individualism is all about making money without help from anyone. Left-wing individualism is all about artistic expression.

Autistic individualism usually leans towards left-individualism. We have a bizarre taste in entertainment.

Yes, I made this point elsewhere in a discussion about the misuse of the term 'liberal' that has become dominant in the US in recent decades.

The political right advocates economic individualism (aka economic liberalism)
The left advocates behavioural individualism (aka social liberalism), which includes artistic expression supported by the state and behavioural freedom.

This is not entirely clear-cut, however. The early United States is a prime example of economic and social liberalism in what we would now consider to be a right-wing context; that is, very little government intervention in anything, and very little economic stimulus from outside private business.

I don't think too many people in 2016 want to implement Soviet style communism.

Why pick a disastrous historical example of something akin to socialism? It would be just as easy to pick various historical examples of failed capitalist countries that had lots of poor people. Effectively you are straw-manning socialism.

If you look at the countries in the world today with the highest quality of life, you will find plenty of countries that are socialist by US standards.

Bernie Sanders is the sort of socialist I like. Not Stalin.

I would go a step further than 142857 did and say that most countries that have tried socialism did not end up with a lot of poor people. Some prime examples are France, Canada, the Nordic countries, and even the United States in the 1940's through to the 1970's.

Many in the United States (and elsewhere) seemingly try to promote the idea that there are 2 types of system. Free-for-all capitalism (which tends to operate in reality as crony capitalism or casino capitalism) or communism.

The reality is that there are many "shades" in between. Both extremes suck, and even the "in between" models suck if they are poorly or corruptly managed.

Countries with the highest standards of living and the highest quality of life tend to be to the socialist side of the middle.

Pro-capitalists complain that socialism is about redistribution of wealth. And ignore the fact that capitalism is also about redistribution of wealth - redistribution from those who work and produce stuff to those who own stuff and manage stuff. Deregulate capitalism enough and all you do is accelerate that redistribution, make it more extreme.
