In this thread we can expand our vocabularies by sharing a new word every day. Or as many times as you like per day if you want to try to beat HBL's post count while he's on sabbatical.

Smoke Test

This is one I learned just recently at work.

It relates to software and user interface testing.

There is no plan as such, you simply go in and push buttons and make sure things work how they look like they should.

"After Skyblue updated the forum software he gave it a quick smoke test and found that random thoughts was relocated to "General Support".
