Ozone generator
I picked up an ozone generator from a charity shop. I used it a few times to "freshen" a room. Of course I go away from that room while it is on and for a few hours afterwards to let the ozone dissipate. I have been using it to dechlorinate a gallon jug of tap water. I think I need to do it longer. I have used it to wash fruit which stays rot free for much longer refridgerated.

RE: Ozone generator
Wikipedia Wrote:There is a great deal of evidence to show that ground-level ozone can harm lung function and irritate the respiratory system.[41][51] Exposure to ozone (and the pollutants that produce it) is linked to premature death, asthma, bronchitis, heart attack, and other cardiopulmonary problems.[52][53]

Long-term exposure to ozone has been shown to increase risk of death from respiratory illness. A study of 450,000 people living in United States cities saw a significant correlation between ozone levels and respiratory illness over the 18-year follow-up period. The study revealed that people living in cities with high ozone levels, such as Houston or Los Angeles, had an over 30% increased risk of dying from lung disease.[54][55]

Not a good idea.

RE: Ozone generator
Let me expand on what I said. Since you have to air out the room anyway, I don't see any reason you can't skip the step of filling the room with what is essentially a toxic gas in order to freshen the air.

RE: Ozone generator
^ That's kind of what I'm getting at. And like a lot of snake oil, it carries at least as much risk as the benefits being claimed.

RE: Ozone generator
Mostly I use the ozone generator to clean fruit and vegetables in a bowl of water. It does really work. The lettuce is just amaizing. The strawberries stayed fresh for a week.

Not as if I am sucking on the hose as the ozone is coming out. I only use it when I am out of the area and go in after it has been ventilated for a few hours.

Ozone is not snake oil. Many scientific studies done. Using it to "cure" cancer might be snake oil.
