Safe space
I saw a really interesting show on TV last night, about violent aspie kids.

One idea was a safe space, like a tent, in the kid's room. Where they could retreat to when stressed.

I'm going to ask my son if he wants one.

RE: Safe space
A safe place is also a parent who lets a kid voice their opinion, have their emotions, lets a kid have some unwinding time, allows some privacy.

I often have to explain to parents that the school day can be very stressful for kids. They are in a place where they have no control and no choices for much of it. It is noisy and often unpredictable. Having some quiet time at home after coming in is good or just some time to be alone, kick a ball around, watch a fav tv show.

I like this idea

I'm not anti-social; I'm just not user friendly.

RE: Safe space
Me too Skyblue.

The idea is that when upset or overloaded the kid can go to into the tent and put some headphones on.
