Frabjus day, koolah, koolay,
she chortled in her joy!
Because, gentle reader, little Ali is once again wearing heels! The story so far is that, as my left leg became increasingly damaged, I could no longer tolerate heels, even heels that would not normally be thought of as particularly high. I had to stop wearing my heeled sandals and begin wearing clunky old special walking shoes. Which were good, solid things, and kept me able to walk, at least. But they were ugly leather things which had the added problem of being almost unbearably hot in summer.
Since my knee operation I've been wearing those shoes to go out in, and around the house, wearing soft ballet-style flats. Today, I thought, why not give it a try? So I dug out my most comfortable pair of sandals from under the bed, shoes I haven't worn for around two years. They have only a low-ish kitten style heel of about 5 centimetres. I put them on and voila! I can totter about in them! I still need a walking stick with them on, as I feel rather unstable but at least they don't hurt to wear anymore!
I iz happeez!
