What Lies Beneath.

Good psychological thriller. Gonna watch it again and count the Hitchcock references (particularly Psycho and Vertigo).

They're everywhere - musical, visual, narrative…..!

History is the lies of the victors coupled with the delusions of the defeated. It is an imagined certainty created at the point where the imperfection of memory meets the inadequacy of documentation.

The Day the Earth Stood Still (original 1951 movie).

Dated but reasonable. Good soundtrack by Bernard Herrmann

The Divide

I actually picked this up, because there was a Fallout DLC called "Lonesome Road" in which the protagonist goes to a burned out ruin known as "the divide."
I looked it up and this came out first... so it sadly wasn't a rip off and the stories differ greatly.

This Divide, is a science fiction psychological horror with some pretty good ideas but it's somewhat lacking in it's execution.
When it wants to be, it can be disturbing and it manages to do these scenes quite well but other than that, there's not much to go on.
Nobody is especially likable and the story kind of gets abandoned to see how far they can take the Stanford Prison experience.

Not a terrible post apocalyptic film but I'd sooner suggest The Road.
It's also not for the faint of heart...

"And then he is gone and Lazarus is left alone to wonder which is worse - a God that does not care to understand His creation or a God that thinks that he does." Lazarus by John Connolly.

I'm thinking of getting the movie "The Hunger Games" to watch. I read the book while I was in hospital, and was very impressed with it, enough so that I will definitely get the other two books in the trilogy. Has anybody else seen the movie? Would you recommend it?

If something is both feature length and it was seen in the cinema then it counts as a movie in my book so...

The Day of the Doctor (Doctor Who 50th anniversary episode)- 11/10

I don't think that counts. And it's eleven out of thirteen, apparently, so whatever

It counts in my book, and film ratings are either five stars or 10 out of 10, but because The Day of the Doctor was so good it got 11 out of 10

Yeah, there were Dr Who movies in the 60s, starring Peter Cushing as the Doc…..this is the latest equivalent of those.

Insiduous.

Terrifying horror about the demonic possession of a child.
